I've collected and eaten at least a dozen varieties in the SF Bay Area.
Chanterelles (Cantharellus cibarius), black chanterelles (Craterellus cinerus),
tree oysters (Pleurotus ostreatus), blewitts (Clitocybe nuda),
shaggy parasols (Lepiota rachodes),shaggy manes (Coprinus comatus),
candy caps (Lactarius fragilis), black elfin saddles (Helvella lacunosa),
Coccoli (Amanita calyptrata), Honey Mushroom (Armillariella mellea),
The Princess (Agaricus perobscurus),  Porcini (Boletus edulis),
and (last but not least) Psilocybe cyanescens!

WARNING!!!
Every year there seems to be a news story in California
about someone being poisoned  from eating wild mushrooms.
Well, this is usually the culprit, Amanita phalloides,
the Death Cap.
