ISSD Advanced Course in Dissociative Disorders Psychotherapy Training Program

led by Maggie Phillips, PhD
Beginning in September 2006
in Oakland, California

The International Society for the Study of Dissociation has successfully completed four years of the Dissociative Disorders Psychotherapy Training Program (DDPTP), and over 600 participants have made use of this program. This year the Advanced Course is being introduced, after a successful one-year pilot of the program that was designed by Steven Frankel, Ph.D., J.D. Coursework will include focus on both readings and clinical situations and has additional emphasis on attachment, special technique, special adjustment of the treatment frame, transference and countertransference, boundaries, communications with alters, and integration and termination. The Advanced Course is scheduled to take place in several locations throughout the world, including Oakland, California. The Oakland course will be lead by Maggie Phillips, PhD.

Course will meet for 2.5 hours once monthly for 9 months on dates to be determined by participant availability. The group will consist of 6-10 licensed psychotherapists with CEU's available. The dates and times of this course will be determined after all participants have registered -- we will make a schedule that all can attend, and this may be a mixture of weekend and evenings depending on what everyone can handle (times currently under consideration are Friday mornings, Saturday mornings, and/or Wednesday evenings).

Who May Attend
Participants must be licensed professionals, and they must also receive the approval of Maggie Phillips and ISSD faculty to attend. Clinicians in training may attend with the written recommendation of the chairperson of their training program/department. Prerequisite for this course is completion of the basic ISSD Dissociative Disorders Psychotherapy Training Program or it's equivalent.

Fees: Registration for ISSD Members: $380; for Non-ISSD Members: $430.
For CEU credit please add $40 (available for non-MDs only). Payment must be made by credit card, and fees include course materials and copyright fees. Reading materials will be provided in the form of CD.

There is a $25 non-refundable charge for withdrawal from the class plus an $80 copyright and materials fee if materials have been sent to you prior to withdrawal. There are no refunds for withdrawal less than 15 days before the date of the first class.
