Creating Safe Harbors in Stormy Times through Presence, Power & Passion. Earn 15 CEU's and enjoy a relaxing Mexican cruise vacation, too, aboard the Sapphire Princess sailing from Los Angeles. During the three days we are at sea, you will be professionally invigorated by internationally known therapist-presenters Laurel Parnell and Maggie Phillips. There will be plenty of time for enjoying the ship's deluxe amenities, reading or relaxing on deck, watching for whales and other sea life, networking with other therapists, and special events. Two formal dress nights provide for elegant evenings. While visiting the scenic Mexican port cities of Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas, enjoy shopping, beaches, water sports, golf, and so much more!

Our current world climate of crisis and urgency makes life exhausting and depleting. You see it in your clients, fellow therapists, and maybe, yourself. Join us to explore and experience six different approaches to replenishment and renewal. Using self-experimentation and practice, you will learn new tools for restoring wholeness and balance. Approaches will include mindfulness, imagery, Buddhist meditation, energy psychology, hypnosis, and EMDR resource installation. No prior training in these specific modalities is required. You will master skills that can easily be integrated into your practice and personal life.

Objectives:
1. Learn two types of mindfulness practice
2. Recognize and describe how EMDR is a transpersonal therapy.
3. Practice a self-hypnotic approach to find and work with the "inner mentor" to support presence and power.
4. Learn how to use bilateral stimulation with guided imagery to enhance the personal resources of clients.
5. Learn 3 methods for creating a positive energy field within the body and in interpersonal interactions.
6. Learn how to utilize at least one meridian therapy method and one qi gong exercise to relieve stress and restore inner peace and balance.

The treatment of trauma is a field full of challenges. Generally overlooked is the intrinsic relationship between trauma and powerful energy phenomena in the body. Understanding and utilizing these intimate relationships can provide therapeutic strategies that can provide important resources for traumatized clients and support the genuine transformation of traumatic experience.

The states of horror and terror share essential structural and psychophysiological roots with those that underly transformative states such as awe, presence, and joy. The bridging and owning of the body's survival capacities helps to shift reactions to threat from freezing and constriction, which can lead to problems such as chronic pain and immune dysfunction, to vitality and aliveness.

This workshop will present methods drawn from the models of Somatic Experiencing® and Energy Psychology that can help access and integrate the movement of subtle energies in the nervous system. As we work with a broad menu of techniques, participants will learn to help clients gradually access and assimilate the instinctual survival and regulating responses embedded within trauma in order to catalyze authentic spiritual, physiological, cognitive, and emotional transformation.

The format will include lecture, discussion, case consultation, and live and video demonstration. Experiential exercises will be emphasized for hands-on learning. Participants are urged to bring their most difficult cases for discussion and review.

In our work devoted to caring for the multifaceted needs of others, we encounter fear and anxiety, emotional and physical suffering, and desperation and urgency. Moreover, our sensitivity often makes us react strongly to daily signs that our world is in crisis. Over time, these demands take their toll in the form of unrelenting stress, compassion and empathy fatigue, and eventual burnout.

This workshop will focus on developing skills for spiritual, emotional, and physical renewal. Experiential exercises will help to identify ways of tapping into unlimited inner resources that maximize personal growth and creativity for healers. These exercises encompass training in mindfulness meditation, access to rejuvenating playful states, and uses of self-hypnosis to transmute the tyranny of clock time into artful self-expression and ritual. The workshop will also present practices for identifying and removing obstacles that limit our attention to self-care, including voice dialogue, ego-state therapy, and energy psychology methods.

This mini-retreat/workshop weekend is designed for healers from all traditions who would like to make a deeper commitment to taking care of heart, spirit, body, and mind.

Although 1 in 3 adults over 50 are affected significantly by pain, standard treatments for chronic pain often fail because they center on medications that over-treat, under-treat, or further complicate the pain problem. This workshop will help participants learn to identify and resolve specific types of inner conflicts related to pain, assist in relieving distress related to past traumatic stress that is often held in the body as a constriction, and treat imbalances related to the body's fight/flight response. Methods will be drawn from hypnotic, Somatic Experiencing® , and Energy Psychology traditions.
