Flow Correction Screen

This screen allows us to set different flow periods based on how many nozzles are open. There are distinct sets of parameters for each reagent. The list under the cursor lets us view the calculated correction factor for any number of nozzles.

This utility is useful because we found that, for a given backpressure of Argon, liquid flow per nozzle decreased as more nozzles were opened. These correction factors allow the operator to adjust the period of time that nozzles are open, with the result that the requested amount of liquid reagent is delivered regardless of the number of open nozzles.

Correction factors are calculated by opening first one, then two, then three, up to eight nozzles for exactly the same period, and weighing the liquid that was delivered. A second order curve was adequate to describe the performance in all cases.
