Position: Program Assistant

September 1, 2000 - June 1, 2001
Neighborhood Accreditation Center (NAC)
& Music in the Schools (MITS)
Every Child Counts Community Grants Initiative

The Neighborhood Accreditation Center (NAC) and the Music in the Schools (MITS) programs will direct and implement a parent education/school readiness program for children ages 0-5 and their families in the Fruitvale community. The program will be in partnership with the Fruitvale Elementary School Healthy Start Collaborative.

We are looking for an individual with the following skills and abilities to complete our administrative team.

  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills and experience,
  • Background in program administration,
  • Knowledge of Fruitvale community

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist Healthy Start Program Coordinator with outreach to parents of children ages 0-5 in Fruitvale District.
  • Scheduling parent and children's classes
  • Data collection, distribution of evaluation instruments and assist evaluator
  • Provide administrative assistance for teachers and Program Co-Directors
  • Coordinate informal partnerships
  • Attend Healthy Start collaborative meetings

Study and/or experience in Early Childhood Education and Music Education a plus.

Bilingual folk are strongly encouraged to apply.

$15-20 per hour depending on experience. Approximately. 8 hours per week.
