OPD Quarterly Report

On May 21, 2002, the City Council directed the Police Department to provide a quarterly report on the reorganization of Oakland's Community Policing program. The report was to include:

  • OPD attendance at NCPC meetings
  • OPD attendance at other community meetings
  • Percentage of officer time devoted to problem solving
  • Percentage of officer time spent in assigned geographic area
  • Project status of specific problem solving issues and/or top three priorities of each NCPC
  • Percentage of time Neighborhood Services Coordinators (NSC) spend on community outreach
  • Attendance figures at NCPC meetings
  • Number of complaints against officers
  • Community engagement in reporting crime
