Subject: "Little Stonehenge" at MacArthur and Lincoln

I was interested in finding out what has stopped the welcomed progress at this intersection. I noticed the water has been provided and would love to volunteer my efforts to help with the planting that I hope is still planned. Anyone know the status of this project? Where can I volunteer?

Dear Karin,
As I understand it, the next step is getting the electrical lines in. The City has promised to do this, and clearly they need to be prodded. I have put this on a list of issues to bring up with City staffers at the 7/14 Interdepartmental Working Group meeting, but I think it would be useful if you would e-mail Dick Spees's office (try his aide Niccolo De Luca: Ndeluca@oaklandnet.com) to ask for their help keeping the project on track.

To help with the hands-on stage, when we get to it, I'd suggest getting in touch with Mike Mannix (530-4539).

Cheers,
Janet Broughton

"Heather Hensley reports that PGE changed the rules midstream re electricity for the gateway project, so she's having to rewrite the proposal to include a separate meter, which was not part of the original plan. Once PGE finally moves on it, the Dept of Pub. Works will plan and install the needed wiring."

Looks like the park is taking shape! I was so excited to see the progress. Is there a place to volunteer to help with the planting? I would love to chip in. I know I will enjoy it every morning on my drive to work. Whoever is making this happen---Thank you!
