For many years, Verne's wonderful smile and boundless energy have made our neighborhood a better community. All of us who have enjoyed reading about our neighborhood in the DIA newsletter send a big thanks to Verne who has assembled, labeled, and mailed the DIA newsletter to all our members. She has also delivered 200 copies of the MacArthur Metro to Dimond businesses every month. On some of her many "power walks" around the hood she picks up the DIA's mail at the post office and stops by Tito Tayco's office to cosign DIA checks.

We've missed her lately, as she had been in the hospital, but we're overjoyed to see her back home -- Welcome back Verne!
