Conversational Snippets
fragments of Highlander fanfiction
PG
by Amy R.

Snippet 1

"I lived through the stone age, MacLeod.  I see no need to recreate it."

"The stone age?"

"Fine.  The middle ages, the old west, the seventies.  Same deal.  It's the twenty-first century out there, and here you are, chopping wood."

"Methos, the cabin has solar panel electricity and Internet access."

"Through a modem!  Do you have any idea how long a 28K modem takes to download porn?  I don't know what I'm going to do with you, MacLeod."

Duncan started to laugh.  "Apparently, you're going to sit there whining while I work."

Methos grinned and took a long pull on his beer bottle.  "We all have our special gifts."

Snippet 2

"Daft git treats everyone as if they're mortal."

"No," Joe corrected.  "No, you've got it exactly backward.  Most people -- mortal and immortal alike -- treat everyone as if they're mortal.  You know, as if they'll die and be gone, so it doesn't matter how you treat them.  Mac treats everyone as if they're immortal, as if he's going to be dealing with them past the end of time."
