Alt Art Marketplace Frequently Asked Questions:

What is permitted in Alt Art Marketplace?

The purpose of this unmoderated group is to provide a forum where nobody with art-related merchandise; whether it is a painting, sculpture, the documentation of a conceptual piece, or the supplies and equipment used for art production; needs to fear the wrath and flames of anti-commercial zealots. ( This does not apply to "spammers" who flood the usenet with get-rich-quick schemes, miracle diets, credit-repair services, sex-talk numbers, chain letters, and ads for miscellaneous non-art-related junk - these folks are not welcome, and may be considered lawful flame-bait.)
Additionally, queries as to the value of particular works of art or seeking more information on certain artists, requests for help in locating particular works or artists, information about commissions offered and solicitation of bids from artists for contract work, notices from galleries, museums, or agents seeking new artists, discussion about the market for art in various places or the marketing of art in general, announcements of new URLs or reviews of existing ones, information about fabricators, foundries, and other art-making facilities, and postings from artists advising the world of the availability of their products and services are all welcome here. But in the interest of conserving bandwidth and the patience of our readers - PLEASE DON'T POST THE SAME MESSAGE MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK!

While all plain-text messages on the subjects permitted above are welcome, please do not post pictures, binarys, or html attachments to your messages. These use a lot more bandwidth than text, and crowd out legitimate messages before they have a chance to be read. If you want to direct readers to a site where a picture is posted (your own or one the many sites where one can put pictures up for free) that is permitted- even encouraged.
