Merla Zellerbach
Wake Up and Smell the Chemicals
Helpful info and product safer alternatives given, but unfathomably she didn't mention that
one should avoid the use of scented fabric softeners. Nor did Ms. Zellerbach take into account
all of the people who can suffer adverse events due to secondary and tertiary levels of
exposure. As I read this, it was written for the primary user who is developing chemical
sensitization. Remember that synthetic scents are volatile organic compounds, concocted of
tens to hundreds of chemicals from the industry's arsenal of between 3,000 and 5,000
inadequately tested chemicals. We've got to start thinking beyond ourselves to the effects our
actions and the products we use can cause to other people and other creatures of our planet.-- barb
