I've used artsy craftsy projects to help me through all sorts of slumps. My friend, Leigh, taught me how to make beaded bracelets/anklets on a bead loom. Todd taught me hairwraps (which he learned through Leigh). My favorite project was during the summer of '96, when Shel and I sat on my front porch making stained glass mosaic candle holders. We must've made over 30 of these gorgeous things, in various colors, shapes and sizes. We sold them at a Phish show, holding them out in front of us and letting them flicker their lovely colors; people bought them right out of our hands, and we came back from there, having paid for camping, food, entertainment and shopping, with more money than we started off with. I'd like to make those again someday . . .
