Ah, and the second thing was going to be a run-down of the weekend, but
I'm running out of time this morning. Perhaps later. Have a good day!

First of all: I have a new article up
over at Strange
Horizons. This one isn't quite as "general interest" as the Halloween
article; the title is: "Strange Bedfellows: Eugenics, Attraction, and
Aversion in the Works of Octavia E. Butler". So if you've never read
any Butler . . . well, actually, if you've never read any Butler and would
still like to read my article, I'd love to hear from you on what you
thought. Of course, if you've read Butler and read this article, I'd like
to know what you think of it - all opinions, comments, etc. are
welcome. I suppose I should mention that there are spoilers for just
about every series she's written, but I really don't think I'm going to
ruin any of her books for you - I stay pretty focused on my topic and
Butler's stuff is engrossing no matter what. Exercise log:
Lifted weights Friday -- back and biceps. Did some abs. On Saturday I
danced: two waltzes and a "semi-sedate" polka at the Dickens
Faire. Yesterday, I gardened -- trimmed the honeysuckle and Mexican sage
back, pulled up stuff, planted bulbs.
