Dear Diary . . . day by day

Tuesday, November 20th, 2001 -

The highlight of yesterday was receiving a personal note in my email from Nalo Hopkinson telling me she'd always wanted to see someone tackle the sexualities in Octavia Butler's work and that I did a good job with it in my article. I'll take unsolicited praise from one of my favorite writers any old day of the week, but I'm especially pleased that she noticed this article; I think it's one of my best.
This week, I'm also going to Thanksgiving up at A Certain Magazine with Tim. This, in itself, is an exciting adventure, but add to that the fact that one of the legends of science fiction will be at dinner, and you've got one very happy, (and rather nervous) Heather. Tim thinks it's tacky to mention the writer by name, so I'll just say that I think David interviewed him for SH last year around this time.
I would write more, and will try to later, but for now I need to get dressed and off to work. Ciao!

Exercise log:
Walked a lot this weekend, over the hill and back again. Otherwise, not feeling well enough for a full workout. Hopefully tomorrow.
