Anyway, this
interview was spur-of-the moment this morning. I guess I had other plans
for the day, but those can easily be moved to tomorrow. What else? Had
coffee with Susan
yesterday, which was nice, as I haven't seen her in awhile. Tim came home
and we indulged in some fast food and a rented video ("Bridget Jone's
Diary" which is so very different from the book it's startling in some
places). I've been on a house cleaning/rearranging kick lately (I think
the approaching work this weekend helps me value my time more), so I
vacuumed the dining room and my bedroom. The floors look so nice! I wish
we had our own vacuum so I could keep them looking like this; I have to
borrow David's, and while he's always nice enough in letting me borrow it,
it's a drag lugging a vacuum cleaner around. Anyway, think I'll write
some tonight while Tim is working on his own stuff. Hope you all had at
least as good a day as I did today!

With a little help from Mom
Ah, had a great interview today! I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I
feel really good about how the interview went, and I think I'm perfect
for this job (and vice-versa). It didn't hurt that the interview was at
the Sierra Club and that the
first bit of conversation I had was about my mother and her involvement
with the Sierra Club and her Urban Sprawl committee volunteerism. It's
nice to go into an interview and reallly care passionately about
what the organization does and not have to feign interest about elevators
or interior design or what-have-you. It wouldn't be hard to work hard
at this job at all. The fact that Mom is so involved
already gave me a good idea of what goes into trip planning at the Sierra
Club, and it made the interview a very comfortable experience. I also
liked both the guys conducting the interview very much; they're both about
my age, laid-back and friendly. In other words, if I got the job, I think
I'd have more in common with my co-workers than most of these other jobs
I've been interviewing for. Which is always a plus. Exercise log:
Vacuuming counts, even more than vigorous shagging.
Writing log:
Didn't get much done, other than a little research last night.
Current Publications:

I'm currently reading:

Okay, so I'm
just reading the very rough
first draft of the chapters fresh off the 'puter, but damn, it's already
good!
