2/16/99 | Shards of Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold | This book is the first in a series of eleven, so be warned. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The female protagonist is intelligent and just plain cool (instead of a bosomy dingbat), and her relationship with the enemy is both well-told and believable. If you want to get started on this addiction, Amazon is willing to help you out. |
2/8/99 | Milroy the Magician by Paul Theroux | A good story, if a bit purient in its interests. It's making me feel guilty for eating badly; this book is disgusting at times, but I cannot look away. A good read all the way through, though. Recommended. Wanna buy the book? |
1/31/99 | Planet of Exile by Ursula K. LeGuin | A delightfully slender read. LeGuin's imagination brings us a world where one year equals a lifetime, and everyone only gets one chance at each season. The plot takes place right before the onslaught of a long winter, as two species struggle for understanding. It's out of print, but Amazon is willing to find it for you. |
