Directions to Kearney Park

To get to Kearney Park from the Bay area and I-5, take SR 152 east through Los Banos to SR 99 and drive south to Madera, CA. Take the SR 145 south off ramp and drive about 10 miles south to Kerman, CA. When you get to Kerman, turn left or east on SR 180 toward Fresno and look for the signs to Kearney Park at Grantland Avenue. Turn right on Grantland and you will dead-end at Kearney Blvd. Turn left and then right just beyond the main entrance to Kearney Park on Fair Avenue to the first right turn you can make. This is the reenactor’s entrance. Refer to the site map for actual camp placement.

To reach the event from the south, take SR 99 north to the Fresno Street off ramp and turn left (west) over the freeway to the newly restored Arches at Kearney Blvd. on your right. Take Kearney Blvd. all the way out about 6 miles to Fair Ave. and follow the directions above.

If you’re flying in, the aerodrome is not yet completed and the Federal balloon corps has taken over the soccer fields, so you’re out of luck!

Alternative Directions

Kearney Park is located six miles West of Fresno on Kearney Blvd. If traveling South on State Route 99, take the Fresno St. off-ramp and turn right to Kearney Blvd.  It is lined with palm trees all the way out to the park.  If traveling North on SR 99, take the Fresno Street off-ramp and turn left to Kearney Blvd. The park's main entrance will be on the left.  Our entrance, is just prior to the main gate on Fair Ave.  Turn left onto Fair and follow the road around to the back of the park, where our camps will be located.  Sutlers and CSA may park behind the Sutler area, while USA and Civilians will park in the large lot South of the Federal Camp.  PLEASE AVOID USING THE MAIN GATE.

Hotels

I have been told that if you look for a hotel in Fresno, it is best to find one in a good part of town.  Blackstone is okay, but further from downtown is better.  Anything south of Shields avenue is a bad idea.  Technically, Kearney park is not located in a great part of town.  The two hotels on Shaw are close to the park but in relatively safe areas.
