General Information

We have been having events at Roaring Camp since our club came into being in 1994.  It is our "homecoming" event for the year and spans all 3 days of the Memorial Day weekend.  We have always had our largest troop and public turnout at this event.  Roaring Camp is a popular local attraction located about 6 miles north of Santa Cruz.  Nestled into the redwoods the location features an old western town and a railroad that follows old logging tracks.  The event will feature living history demonstrations, drill and 2 battles a day over the weekend and one battle on Monday.

Event Specifics

Roaring Camp Railroads is located at 5355 Graham Hill Road in Felton within Santa Cruz County in California 95018.  Their phone number is (831) 335-4484, email is depot@roaringcamp.com and internet website is http://www.roaringcamp.com.  The weekend event is usually preceded by a three day school event Wednesday through Friday.  On Memorial Day, a special flag raising ceremony is usually held along with one battle.  If you are a reenactor and want to participate in the educational living history demonstrations before the event, please arrive Tuesday night.  Please contact William Entriken (event coordinator) at 408-639-3465.

NOTE FOR REENACTORS: Reenactors must park in the designated parking lot (behind the railroad graveyard near the park entrance).  If you are parked in the wrong location, such as the public parking area, you will be towed WITHOUT NOTICE.  Reenactors may NOT purchase public parking tickets to park closer.  This is different from last year where William spent a lot of his personal time running around warning people that they will get towed.  No vehicles will be allowed in camp between 8:30am and 6:30pm on Saturday and Sunday.  On Monday, cars can not enter the camp until 4pm but this is dependent on the last train timetable.  Please confirm with your commanding officer.
