About Our Family

Our Pleasures
- good food;
- baseball;
- hiking;
- bicycling;
- adventure travel;
- singing and playing piano and guitar;
- live theater;
- friends;
- learning languages;
- photography;
- challenging ourselves;
- and hugs.
We want our children to feel safe, loved, and listened to.
We will love and care for our new baby with our full hearts and resources as we do for our son Isaac. Isaac is a happy, friendly two year-old, with an excellent belly laugh who arrived after several years of trying (and a major miracle). Isaac loves smelling flowers, gently stroking babies' hair, reading books about trains, and chasing garbage trucks. He will be a wonderful big brother!
What We Encourage in our Children
- to be kind;
- to try many activities;
- to enjoy reading, drawing, and singing;
- to love themselves and their families;
- to work hard toward achieving goals they set;
- to respect people of all backgrounds and circumstances;
- to be involved in their community;
- to have friends; and
- to laugh and cry with their whole hearts.
Extended Family
We consider ourselves blessed to have extended family that live both nearby and across the country (from Los Angeles to Seattle, and from Ft. Lauderdale to Washington, D. C.). Our families gather frequently for visits and to celebrate birthdays and holidays. We spend Thanksgiving at the beach or in the mountains with Grandma Barbara and Grandpa Pete, and with aunts, uncles and cousins. We also visit Great-Grandpa Irving and Granny Sally in Los Angeles. Aunt Suzanne makes a Hallowween tradition of taking the children on hay rides through pumpkin patches near the apple orchard where she lives, an hour north of us.
