Trenton Crabtree heard the world clearly for the first time. The four year old, who was found to be profoundly deaf shortly after birth, heard his mother say his name and heard his father clap his hands after the cochlear implant was turned on. When his audiologist played a tune on a toy piano, he smiled and tried to play it himself.
