In 1997 the firm of Collins & Dobkin merged with the law office of Seth
A. Miller to form Collins, Dobkin & Miller LLP. The partners bring a
combined total of over seventy years of housing law experience to the
firm. The goal of our practice is to provide quality legal
representation to the tenant community of New York City. Individual partners have developed areas of
expertise including real estate closings, commercial disputes, cooperative
and condominium law and loft law. The firm has represented clients in
Housing Court, Civil Court, Supreme Court, all state appellate courts,
federal district and bankruptcy courts, the United States Court of
Appeals for the Second Circuit and before state and local housing
agencies. Over the years the partners have represented thousands of
individual tenants and scores of tenant groups and associations.
- In 2009, all of the partners and our paralegal, Jon Lilienthal, were among the honorees in a ceremony by the National Lawyers Guild, New York City Chapter, honoring the Tenants' Rights Movement.
- In 2007, the firm received the Seventh Annual Gloria W. Milliken Award, celebrating homelessness prevention, from Eviction Intervention Services.
- The firm is named in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.
- In October, 2009, Seth Miller was honored by Housing Conservation Coordinators (HCC) for his extraordinary volunteer work.
All of the partners have been vigorous advocates on behalf of tenants
rights, publishing articles, making television and radio appearances,
participating in impact litigation, supporting key groups like the
Metropolitan Council on Housing, Tenants and Neighbors and the Queens
League of United Tenants.
