Arch 100


History of Architecture I (3 units) (No prerequisite. Three lecture hours weekly).

This class traces the development of architecture and cities throughout the world from the earliest permanent settlements at the end of the Ice Age to the 1100's C.E. Emphasis is on the evolution of architectural ideas and the connection between architecture and culture.

Arch 101

History of Architecture II

History of Architecture from about 1100 C.E. to the end of the 19th Century.

Arch 102

History of Architecture III

History of 20th Century architecture. Emphasis is on the efforts to develop new architectural concepts appropriate to new technological opportunities and social concerns.
