Last night, however, I drank some NyQuil. I have to watch that I
don't get accustomed to sleeping on that stuff, as it really does nip my
insomnia in the bud and it's so, so nice to actually sleep a whole night
through. This morning, I was actually able to wake up when Tim came in to
say goodbye before heading off to his dream-job. So, here I
am, before 10(!), typing away. Small victories. If you've been reading
my boyfriend's
journal, you know that I'm going nuts shopping for him. On Monday, the
only productive thing I did all day was buy shoes and clothing for
him. This was because, a) I was a little depressed (from what is
too long and private to go into right now) and b) Tim really needed
new clothes. Kellie used to call this (and probably still does): shopping
therapy. I thought Monday was particularly effective, especially since I
usually am buying myself stuff I don't need all *that* badly and this time
I was buying shoes and underwear that someone else needed. I got
Tim some much needed sandals (which his boss complimented him on the very
next day), a pair of khakis (which he swears he'll never wear, but I
insist he be able to be a little dressy on short notice, as you never
know), an off-white linen shirt (which he says looks very post-colonial,
I-live-on-an-island), a cornflower blue henley (which makes his eyes so
blue it hurts my heart; gods, he's a beautiful boy) and three pairs of
sexy boxers (well, *I* think he looks sexy in them). Oh, this is a very
exciting journal entry, isn't it? You're all reading with baited breath,
I'm sure: do we get to hear more about the boxers? Patterned or
solids? Knit or cotton or silk? Heh. Sorry. I'm Ms. Sally Homemaker
these days, or at least I'm starting to feel that way a bit. I'll
spare you the tales of cooking him dinner and getting the art in the
living room framed (just like real adults!), for now. Let's just
hope I can pass the CBEST on the first go (this Saturday morning) and get
a nice, solid job substitute teaching somewhere. I should go finish my
Midnight Robber article and make David happier. Have a lovely hump day,
y'all!

Ms. Sally Homemaker
Sorry I'm not writing much here, kids. I think I'm getting sick - my ear
likes to make this bubbly sound now and again, and I'm sure my old ear
infection is still hanging out. My body compensates for this by giving me
annoying headaches at night, right before bedtime. I've not been sleeping
well at night (possibly from headaches, possibly from Tim's elbows - my
kingdom for a king-size bed!), so I've been sleeping in until noon or so,
then waking up all disoriented and grumpy. In short, I'm getting almost
nothing done, despite the fact that I'm not working at a day job right
now. Exercise log:
Maybe physical therapy exercises do count, as I was far less
winded than K. (the phys. therapy assistant) who was demonstrating them
for me.
Writing log:
Almost done with Midnight Robber article.
