Monday, February 18th 2002 - The Days of Wine and Korma

Just back from ice cream (Ben & Jerry's) and wine (red) with (here we go with the links) Tim, Zak, Sharon, Mary Anne over at Susan's house around the corner. This after a yummy dinner at Kamal Palace (dinner also had Ian, Elle and Leo, and it was nice to see them again). Lovely evening. Zak, who had been planning on schmoozing me to get me to have Greta carry some books he's contributed to, was very pleased with my new promotion, as it allowed for direct schmoozing. I'm afraid I'm not used to being schmoozed, and I was inelegant. Ah, well. That part didn't matter so much as the vastly enjoying his company, along with everyone else this evening. Good crowd! I'm finding so much joy in small groups of 6 - 10 people these days; and I don't care how geeky it seems to others, but science fiction people - writers and artists and editors especially - rule. Very fun.

I'm obviously not being very articulate, but I'm hoping my enthusiasm will make up for that tonight. I just wanted to write a short, happy journal entry while I was in the mood. Going to snuggle on the couch with Tim and watch the Simpsons and go to bed. Sweet dreams, y'all.

Exercise Log:

Walking to and from BART. Taking what I can get.

Talked about writing a lot.

Current Publications:

"How to Suck" reprinted in From Porn to Poetry: Clean Sheets Celebrates the Erotic Mind

I'm currently reading:

Perdido Street Station by China Mieville
One of the perks of toting this book around is the very hot photo of China on the back. Yum. Another perk is really, really good story.
