Tuesday, July 18th - Shopping, Burning Man
Not too much to say today, which is why the blank page for so long. I ran lots of errands today for work, which means I went shopping all morning long. I do love shopping, I must admit, although the time constraints are a little annoying. Nothing opens until 10 am, and then I have to be back here by noon to give Melissa her break for lunch. Still, today I managed to make it to:
  • OfficeMax - paper
  • Computerstore (can't remember the real name) - an ergonomic snap-on thingie to right the terrible wrong that is the iMac mouse
  • Ikea - to return some CD racks that didn't fit in the space I'd bought them for
  • Costco - to buy batteries and CDR's for work (and way, way, way too much stuff for myself including, but hardly limited to, a new hammock/couch thingie to take camping)

I've decided to go to Burning Man again this year (third year in a row). I wasn't going to go this year, but Holly told me way back in Feb that she wanted to go, so I went ahead and bought first-tier tix ($95 a piece and the cheapest they get this year - right now they're $185, soon to be $200 or more!). Anyway, Holly got her timing wrong and bailed on me, and I was debating whether to go at all. I think I will - it's gonna be a small group this year, and we're only going for the weekend, so I think it'll be more fun than stress (I hope). Anyhow, I'm thinking that pretty soon I'll be able to sell the other ticket at eBay and fund the rest of the trip (gas, food, etc). That's kinda nice, actually, as I'm pretty broke right now.

Exercise log:

Lifted weights: chest, triceps, calves and abs. I also hiked uphill at a pretty good clip on the treadmill for a half an hour or so.

Writing log:

Got a couple plot line ideas for my Thirds story (an sf piece).

I'm currently reading:

Infinity Box by Kate Wilhelm

Slowly reading:
Stars in My Pocket Like Grains of Sand by Samuel R. Delany
