Saturday November 4th - Hair, Books

I had to set my alarm today so I'd get up in time for my haircut at noon. I had lots of trouble sleeping last night - not surprising since I usually don't rest well after a night of uncontrollable sobbing and feeling very sad and sorry for myself. I was emotionally and physically drained, and I went to sleep ok, but woke up around 5am with those uncontrollable depressed "I suck" thoughts. After tossing and turning for an hour or so, I gave up and finished "Crazy Time" (certainly one of Wilhelm's weakest novels - of the ones I've read, that is). I slept fitfully for another couple of hours, then up and to the hairdresser.

I love my hairdresser, Amy. She's my age, moved out here several years ago from Illionois, and does just amazing things with my hair. I told her about my workout routine and said that if I like my face shape when I finally get to the ideal weight/size, I'm going to go for a short cut (right now it's just above shoulder length; short would be cheekbone to chin length). She was excited (so am I; she has good taste in short haircuts), but cautioned me that I'd have to get it cut more often, as she estimates my hair grows about twice as fast as normal people's. Ah, well, that's why I've had it long for so long, y'know? Just this morning, Jen (housemate) was commenting on how fast my hair grows; I let it go a year and it's long-long again. Anyway.

Then David and I headed down to Gray Wolf Books in San Leandro where I spent far too much money on more books that I don't have space for. The most useful one is a resume book, which I hope will get my ass in gear and get me working on a hot-shot resume. I hope to start temping sometime next week. Dammit.

Anyway, that's it for now. Have a great weekend!
