Next Yes, I
enjoy baseball even when there's no reason to dress up so wildly. It's
all David's fault - he's very into the mechanics of it all, and through
his guidance I have come to appreciate the elegance of the game. And the
A's are the team I've cut my teeth on, so I'm glad to get to go to their
playoff game. Each game I go to I get more and more brave, cheering when
I want to cheer, and allowing myself to get irate when I think there's an
unjust call. David still gives me info I wouldn't know otherwise, but
I've got enough of it down that I know what's going on. Anyway, I'm all
excited and pumped for tonight. The energy should be amazing. And the
best part of all is that Aron and Jen are going the next night (game
2) but Aron's all into the Yankees; so we've got that essential rivalry
going which is adding a bunch of sporty spice to the whole week. Let's

I have a half-day at work today because I need to leave early to get to
the Oakland A's (Athletics) playoff game against the New York Yankees. I
am almost as excited as I was when my high school made the final 4 in
basketball my junior year. I have green-and-gold mylar ribbons for my
hair, green and gold makeup that I'm going to use to paint "Go" on one
cheek and "A's!" on the other. I'm going to wear a green T-shirt and
green tights with white shorts (I wish I owned a gold lame skirt), along
with my A's hat and probably my green/brown hiking boots. I might buy
some gold hairspray. We're taping the game (I'm going with David, of
course) so if I *do* happen to make it on TV, I'll have it taped. Exercise log:
Lifted weights: chest, some triceps, a touch of legs. Did 15 minutes on
the elliptical machine (taking it easy after this weekend) and a 15 minute
abs class.
