Friday, September 17th, 1999 - Busy
Hi.

So, today after work I have to rush home and change to meet David so we can drive into the City for Ian and Elle's rehearsal dinner at 6 (I get off work at 5, and we're crossing the Bay Bridge). We must leave this dinner at 7:30 with Lydia so we can cross back over the bridge to pick up the girls (Kaylei and Kiera) at the Oakland Airport at 9 pm. I must remember to bring a book.

I'm leaving the dinner early because the girls are only going to be here until Sunday night.

I will add to this page later this afternoon....

I spent my lunch hand sewing two ring pillows for Ian and Elle's wedding tomorrow. I made them from a few scraps Elle gave me and some fabric/notions I had lying around. Unfortunately, I only had flat lace, and I had already cut the pillows into circles. Flat lace is lovely on a straight edge, but on a curve it must be gathered. I actually did the gathering by hand as I basted it on, using the pattern of the lace to gauge how far apart to put my folds. I got several compliments (from co-workers) on how nice and even my handiwork was. I felt like such a good little Virtuous Woman.

Hm. My mood these days is rather glum. I just can't wait for, oh, Tuesday of next week when I can go to belly dancing class and kick ass as I show off my new shimmy.

I know that I can do a good job with the wedding video, and I'm looking forward to the creative process of it. I think the wedding WILL come off, and it's going to be absolutely breathtaking (they built a bridge over a waterfall, did I tell you that?). I am incredibly happy for Ian and Elle - they're quite a good couple, and I think married life will treat them both well. I haven't seen her dress, but I've heard something yummy about a corset....and I've seen the bridesmaid dresses and I know it's all going to be very charming. And The House, where the reception is, is stunning right now. It will be nice to sit back and appreciate everyone's hard work.

The good and the bad. The stress and the scenery.
Yes.
That's it.
