CITY OF POETS was a fund raiser for the construction of the new San Francisco Public Library and took place at Union Square in San Francisco, California. The theme of the event was "a celebration of the spoken and written word in the public sphere." I acquired this billboard in order to appropriate an add space to encourage the inspiration that can be found in the written word. In the lower right corner is the call number referencing where more of this poet's work can be found in the new public library. I worked in collaboration with Scott Oliver on the graphic design. This piece remained on the billboard for 5 months.
