Fire as Inspiration
Fire, like clay, is a primary element. The alchemy of earth and fire is primal, ancient, eternal. What drives someone to poke an open flame with a stick? Are they driven by the beauty of the flame, or the struggle for power in an attempt to control something so awesome? This primal instinct induced someone to combine earth and fire thousands of years ago, and still the process is a fascinating one. By the simple addition of flame, a piece of earth is turned into a permanent object, whether as a ritual symbol or a utilitarian item. Even when the item is broken, it will never be the the same as before fire touched it. Thousands of years from now, that item will still be wondered about.
