Thursday, January 23th, 2003 - The Ripe Old Age of 30

This is the first birthday I can remember where I actually feel older today than I did yesterday. I think there's something to be said for the power of the mind. I know I'm 30 now. No more excuses for silly, 20-something behavior.

Sigh.

What did I do the last night of my 20's? Laundry! Oooh, so daring, so exciting, so living-life-on-the-edge! Actually, I had a tummy ache most of the night and trouble breathing, both of which I think were part of an anxiety attck. I'm not really that consciously upset about turning 30, but on some level I'm feeling the aging. Maybe it's the whole adult thing -- feel much more as if I must act like an adult now. And then there's the biological clock ringing like hell, keeping me up nights, echoing the screams of the baby (Aleister had a tummy ache last night too, poor thing!). Tim isn't ready for that, and practically speaking, neither am I (hence the anxiety), but boy, oh, boy does that infant living in the house make my ovaries ache!

The coworkers sang me the birthday song today. Heathen brought in some cupcakes with candles, Heidi bought me some cat socks and Richard brought me flowers and a cute card. It made me feel really good. Very sweet of them all.

Don't really have much more to say. I'm getting old. Whoot!

Whoo! Let's sing the birthday song!
