My Pook is back!

Saturday I ran errands. I spent $100 on cleaning supplies and scrubbed the walls of the bathtub/shower with a toothbrush until my arms hurt and I gave up. I didn't even get to the tub itself. Ugh.

Saturday evening I spent hanging out with David. He cooked me an amazing Indian meal, and even though I took a large portion (though not as large as his) that I was sure I wasn't going to finish, I snarfed it all down. I was soooo hungry last week, guys. It was sorta pathetic; I just don't like the ordeal of feeding myself, I really don't. I can cook well, but I'm unmotivated if it's only me.

Anyway, David and I hung out, watched the Simpsons marathon that a local radio station sponsored and I left around 11:30. At least, I tried to. I must've run over something during my errands earlier, because my brand-new left front tire was flat.

Had David drive me home, while I bawled. I wanted everything to be perfect for Tim's homecoming, and I know from experience that it's next to impossible to get a tire patched on a Sunday around here. It seems so wrong that I live in such a metropolitan area and I still can't get anything I want any time I want. So wrong. Lazy mechanics!

Anyway, Sunday morning I got my shit together early (couldn't sleep because I was stressed; also didn't sleep very well all week 'cause I missed Tim) and called AAA to have them change my flat. Yeah, I know, but it's been, oh, 15 years since I changed a tire (and that was in driver's ed class) and I also wasn't sure the spare had air in it. I was right: it didn't. So, while I got the car home on the donut, I still couldn't get the real tires patched until Monday morning. I borrowed Holly's car to pick Tim up.

It was lovely to see him in the airport. I jumped up and down, excited as a little kid at Xmas, and hugged and kissed him inappropriately in the airport. He was stressed about the car, and he had to check his email as soon as he got home, but I think he was happy to see me, too. At least, it seemed so about 20 minutes after he got home on Sunday . . .

Anyway.

Tire was patched Monday morning, by the way, in time for Tim to drive to work. So, yay. Still, I was way pissed that his homecoming was tainted by stress like that. Grrr. Stupid debris-strewn Oakland!

We're more or less back to our old routine, which is sitting watching DVDs (Buffy Season 4, which I had waiting for him when he got back) most nights. It's nice to veg out after work, but I need to get my ass into the gym. I'm still fighting something, or maybe my body is just letting me know how unhealthy it is, because I don't feel well. Bleah. Of course, it may be the fact that since Tim came back we've had carbs and cheese most meals (pizza Sunday night and pesto cheese ravioli last night), so I'm feeling logy.

Tim and I had a chat, though, and he's agreed to be more supportive of healthy eating, so let's hope it works. I'm sort of disgusted with myself lately, which is one of the reasons I'm not updating. I hate depressing journal entries. And, well, work has been hell lately, so my arms really really hurt. Ugh.

Whine whine whine. I think that's enough for now. I'll try to be cheerier next time . . . or faster. Let's hope for both.

Forgive me, I'm just cranky today.
