Sunday, October 28th, 2001 - Lunaversary

Life is much nicer when you know you have money to pay your bills. I'm not quite as relieved as Tim, as I know almost exactly how far behind I am on every last bill, but I'm feeling better about things. I love, love, love my new job so far; as my boss said the other day, "I've never had a job where I've laughed so much." Great team atmosphere and so many innuendos! *I've* never had a job where I didn't get some of the jokes about sex that were being made!

Let's see, this weekend has been quite lovely. Friday night Tim and I watched the Exorcist, the version with the new scenes. I remember being scared out of my wits for days after seeing it as a child, but for some reason, this time it didn't stick with me. It might have something to do with the fact that we watched some porn afterwards. The first porno was one I was supposed to review if I liked it; unfortunately, the only reason I got thru 27 minutes of it was because of the fast-forward button. We remedied the situation by watching a different porno that I'd rescued from the freebie bin at work; bad dubbing and an icky scene with a monster, but at least it had some actual *sex* in it.

Yes, that's right. I sometimes will get free porn from work. Tough job. Heh.

Saturday Tim and I ran all over Berkeley looking for a butterfly net before we finally found one down the street in Oakland. I did find a wonderful new fabric store that has gorgeous cheap fabric, however, so that part of the trip was not lost. Anyway, it was fun, trying to put together a costume for Tim the day of the party. We also stopped briefly at Sears, where Tim bought 2 pairs of jeans (and a shirt that I insisted he buy) in less than 15 minutes. I envy men the ability to do such a thing, yet I pity them at the same time. I'm too much of a shopper to buy things that fast even if I could. Sigh.

I suffered from hiccups for much of the shopping on Saturday; it's disturbing that both Mary Anne AND Marissa have had hiccups this weekend as well. Cue the Twilight Zone music.

We came home and after a bit got dressed for the Halloween party at Ian and Elle's house. I wore my butterfly costume from a few years back, and Tim went as my Lepidopterist. I pinned all my butterfly pins (and I had an almost embarrassing number of them) to a fishing hat, which he wore with khakis. He carried around the fishing net all night, which he occasionally threw over my head. We were terribly cute, even if I do say so myself :-).

The party was a blast. We brought Susan along, who went as Princess Fabuloso (which is very fun to say - try it right now), complete with a rocketship t-shirt, tiara and gold lame cape nee tablecloth (there are two accents missing in that last phrase, but I don't know how to do them in html yet; sorry). I got to see lots of people I miss, such as Jodi, Ian, Elle, Aaron, Karen, Sherman . . . so nice to see my friends! There were some awesome costumes, including a wall flower with incredible makeup (brickwork face surrounded by tulle flower petals) and the scariest one of all, Ms. Patriot (patriotic t-shirt, red-white-and-blue ribbons in her hair and sneakers, handing out flags and spouting fervent patriotic sentiments - shudder). Very fun party; I love Halloween.

Today is our 6 month anniversary. We celebrated by sleeping in until 1pm, then rejoicing when we realized the clocks haven't been set back yet and it was actually still noon. Another brekkie at Mama's, followed by some lovely shagging and snuggling and just being with one another. I love it when we're very, very romantic, and this afternoon was one of those times. I'm so lucky to have a man like Tim.

Late this afternoon, Holly came over to stay for a bit. She needs a break from the hectic pace of her household (which has more adults than ours usually does), and we hardly see each other anyway. She went out to dinner with us (I took them to a place with Midwestern homecookin' - The Red Tractor Cafe in Rockridge of all places), then a movie (From Hell). I don't think Holly was expecting all the gore of From Hell, but we all enjoyed it anyway. I found it a very comforting experience to see a scary movie with my boyfriend on one side and my sissy on the other; I felt rather safe and cozy, to tell the truth.

Anyway, I've gone on quite enough here. Tim needs the connection and Holly needs . . . well, company. I'll try to write here a bit more this week.
