So, last night I was on my way to David's to do laundry (cheaper, and more
entertaining than sitting in a laundromat between loads) when I just
decided to make a side trip and wash my car. It was one of those places
where you drive in, dump in $2 in quarters and have 4 minutes to soap,
rinse, bubble wand or wax your car. Yes, you can add extra quarters, but
running over to the machine and digging quarters out of your pocket takes
time. It's certainly a mad race to get your car clean in that amount of
time, and I ended up spending $3 total. Not bad, especially when you
consider I had to soap and rinse my big old car - 1985 Olds Cutlass Ciera
LS. But it needed it badly. I'm not used to having a car in the city,
where grime collects so thickly upon its surface that you must wash your
hands if you accidently touch the body of your car. Hell, you can't open
the trunk without getting filthy, or you couldn't until I washed it
yesterday. Of course, it's gonna rain today. Still, my car was so dirty (how dirty was it?) it was so dirty that it would've just turned to mud in the rain. There's still places that need scrubbing, but now at least it shines somewhat in the streetlights. In other news, Jenna got the job! We had an opening for reception (Christa's moving up in the company) so I'd recommended her. They liked her resume, and loved her in the interview and hired her. She starts next Tuesday. This position is the counterpart to mine; we're gonna work very closely together, so it's nice to know that I'm going to be working with someone whom I care about (and vice versa). I'm so happy for her; she needed to get out of the stress that is Homefinders (where we met and where she's still working...not for long, though!). I know, short entry. But my lunch is over and it's back to work for me! | ||
