TOPIC:
Project Stem Cell: Presentation Planning

OBJECTIVE:
SWBAT produce an outline of their PowerPoint presentation, with group members retaining responsibility for specific issues agreed upon as a group.

SWBAT also pre-identify 3 types of evidence they would like to find (in tomorrow's online research day) to support their position on their issue.

LITERACY:
-Oral literacy skills will be critical for students to reach consensus.

-Also, students will develop their logical/persuasive skills, as they prepare to develop evidence to support their position.

TOPIC:
Don't Believe The Hype: Online research for resources, graphs, photos

OBJECTIVE:

LITERACY:

Important note, however: academic literacy skills will be addressed, as students evaluate the credibility of online sources.

TOPIC:
Project Stem Cell: Synthesis of PowerPoint Presentation

OBJECTIVE:
SWBAT work with group members to create a PowerPoint presentation that effectively voices the group's collective opinion on the appropriateness of funding stem cell research.

LITERACY:
-Technological literacy skills are developed as students create presentations.

-In addition, logical/persuasive skills will be developed, as students evaluate the effectiveness of various presentation formats/progressions.

TOPIC:
Project Stem Cell: Presentation Rehearsals

OBJECTIVE:
SWBAT prepare for tomorrow¹s in-class presentation/assessment by individually rehearsing and critiquing each member as s/he delivers the presentation before her/his group.

LITERACY:
-Oral literacy skills will be developed as students strive to effectively deliver the presentation.

-Technological literacy skills will be developed also.

TOPIC:
Project Stem Cell: Final Presentations

OBJECTIVE:
SWBAT present their PowerPoint presentations in-class. SWBAT also constructively critiqu//praise other class members' presentations.

LITERACY:
-Oral literacy skills will be developed as students strive to effectively deliver the presentation.

- Technological literacy skills will be developed also.
